Welcome to the home page of the Sedgefield Folk Festival.

Update 26 Feb 2023:
It is with great sadness that we must announce that
Sedgefield Folk Festival's organisers are unable to continue.
Therefore there will be no festival this year.

Apologies for any disappointment and many thanks for your years of support and friendship.

From its modest beginning within a single venue in September 2006, the festival has gradually expanded to cater for the tastes and interests of travelling folk music enthusiasts and local residents alike.

The festival operates within the Ceddesfeld Community Association and a specific, dedicated committee work hard to organise a full programme of events that will bring visitors into this delightful medieval County Durham village.

One of our main objectives, being a small Festival, was to ensure that all visitors had an event to attend, be it concert, singaround, music session, workshop or dance display.
In recent years concerts have been headlined by such artists as Jez Lowe, the late Vin Garbutt, Billy Mitchell, Bernard Wrigley, the late John Wright, the Mighty Doonans, Nancy Kerr & James Fagan, the Acoustic Strawbs and Real Time.

This medieval village has a good range of pubs, shops and eating establishments to cater for the weekend visitor. There is also a pleasant caravan & camping site on the edge of the village. More details here.

We hope to see you again in the future in a club or festival nearby.
